ICSLP 98 Registration Information

Participation is open to all persons interested in Spoken Language Processing. Those who wish to attend the Conference should fill in the Registration Form and return it to the Secretariat. Each registrant must fill in a separate form. A clean photocopy of the form will be accepted, or additional forms can be obtained from the Secretariat. Alternatively, registration may be performed via the www site.

Please note that all persons intending to attend the Conference must register, including invited Committee Members, Paper and Poster Presenters, Chairpersons and other Presenters. Please read through this booklet carefully before you complete your form. For security reasons payment or fees should only be sent by fax or post.

Registration Fee (Per Delegate)

All fees are quoted and must be paid in Australian dollars. At the time of printing the exchange rate was AUD$1=US $0.75

Member Registration

*A member is defined as a member of the Australian Speech Science and Technology Association (ASSTA) Inc. or one of the following sponsoring organisations:

Member registrants should indicate the society of which they are member and their membership number on the registration form.

Student Registration

** A student is defined as a holders of a student identification card from a recognised tertiary or secondary educational institution, or a holder of an international student card. Student must be studying full time to qualify for the discounted rate. Please Note: A copy of your student identification card is required, countersigned by your supervisor, when you submit your registration form. Without this copy, the non-member registration fee will be charged.

Proceedings

The printed proceedings of ICSLP ’98 technical sessions will be available at the additional cost of A$160.00 and those of the SST-98 Student Day will be available at the additional cost of A$35.00. Both sets of proceedings will also be available on the Conference CD-ROM. Additional copies of the CD-ROM will be available at a cost of A$25.00. These prices relate to orders made at the time of registration by completing Section G of the registration form. Printed proceedings may not be available unless pre-ordered at the time of registration. Proceedings which are not collected from the registration desk will attract additional postage and handling charges.

Payment of Fees

Within Australia: Payment of fees must accompany all registrations and may be made by personal cheque or credit card. Bankcard, Mastercard and Visa are the only credit cards accepted at the conference. Cheques should be made payable to ICSLP ’98. Your name and full address should be typed or printed clearly on the back of the cheque.

International: Payments from overseas must be made by credit card or bank draft in Australian Dollars only, drawn on an Australian Bank. Please do not pay your fees by direct transfer.

Acknowledgments

Your registration will be acknowledged in writing with confirmation of your requirements according to your registration form. Booking will be confirmed only on receipt of payment.

Your letter of acknowledgment will also include any further information needed prior to your arrival at the Conference. At the Conference you will receive the CD-ROM of published papers and a final programme including abstracts of papers, Conference documentation and a list of delegates.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations must be notifies in writing to the Secretariat.

Cancellations receive:
Before 31 August 1998 will incur a A$100.00 cancellation fee.
Before 15 October 1998 will receive a 50% refund of fees paid
After 15 October 1998 will receive no refund.

Badges

Each member of the Conference will receive a name badge on registration. The badge will be your official pass and must be worn to obtain entry to all sessions and to social functions.

Letter of Invitation

On request, the Organising Committee will send a letter of invitation to participate in the Conference. Such an invitation is extended specifically to assist participants to obtain travel funds or appropriate visas and does not imply any commitment on the part of the Organiser to provide financial support. Please complete section I of the registration form to request such a letter is required.

The Registration Desk will be located in the Level 2 Foyer and will operate as follows:
