UPDATE.txt :: UPDATE REPORT FOR ANDOSL DATA CORPUS :: update 8-JUN-1999 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- the master copy of this file is at "general_info/cd_doc/mark3" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This report relates largely to the description of ANDOSL data that has been disseminated on CDROM but also can contain matters pertaining to the descriptive data as stored in the RDBMS at the central ANDOSL site at ANU and in the public WWW site of the ANDOSL project. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPEAKING TASK DESCRIPTION The key "TSK:" is meant to be used as a label to point to a key-value-comment file which contains further data keys which label specific aspects of a task. In some early releases of ANDOSL this key has been erroneously applied to point to files which describe tasks in textual prose, normally in the form of instructions to speakers. These files also have normally had a ".tsk" name extension. Note that in later releases the key "TIN:" is used and points to a textual file with name extension ".tin". ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPEAKING TASK IDENTIFIER The key "TSKID:" was used in early releases of sentence data rather than "PID:" for the . ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ERRORS IN "MAP TASK" DDF FILES The data key "TIN:" points to "and_maps.tin" but this file does not exist in the /ddfs directory. The file in the /ddfs directory which provides the is in fact "tsk_map.tin". ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- MISPLACED FILES The data key "HTV:" points to "and_nist.txt" but this file does not exist in the /ddfs directory where one would expect to find it. On SENTENCE CDROMs this file is found in the /doc directory alongside the "gender-age-phonology" directories at the top level. On MAP TASK CDROMs this file is found in the /doc directory alongside the "gender-gender-relationship" directory/ies at the top level. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ANOMALY FILES The "anomalies" descriptor files pointed to by file_names at key "ANO:" were entered into the system for speakers 1-200 only. No anomaly data for sessions involving speakers 201-264 have been entered. The anomaly data key "XAS:" did not appear in early versions of "all_nsld.pro" -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
