CONVENTIONS

Each "session" involved 2 speakers and included 2 map tasks.
Each map task used 2 maps (1A/1B for 1st task; 2A/2B for 2nd task).
The "A" map was used by the LEADER, and the "B" map by the FOLLOWER.
The LEADER sat in the chair opposite microphone "b" (DDF key MNM1:)
The FOLLOWER sat in chair opposite microphone "a" (DDF key MNM2:)

Four signal data files are produced - one from each microphone for
each LEADER-FOLLOWER pairing of the two speakers:

s<LEAD>a<FOLL>.wav    : followers microphone
s<LEAD>b<FOLL>.wav    : leaders microphone

So conventionally all files with an intermediate "b" come from MNM1
and the speaker nearest that microphone is in the leader role, and
all files with an intermediate "a" come from MNM2 and the speaker
nearest to that microphone is in the followers role.

DEPARTURES FROM THESE CONVENTIONS for data released on CDROM are 
noted below as anomalies. The assignment of followers and leaders to 
specific microphones and the use of a uniform set-up for these 
microphones did not occur for the earliest recordings - that is for 
speaker numbers less than 013.
